Popcaan – Ova Dweet

Popcaan is an artist whose music hits me deep.

His phenomenal album Where We Come From is full of passionate and spiritual songs I can’t get enough of. This week he released his next hit Ova Dweet, a song with the classic dancehall vibe that got him the worldwide presence he has today.

Check it out above and do yourself a favor and take listen to Where We Come From.

King Louie – You Love The Bitch

Thanks to his speedy recovery after being shot multiple times last year in his own city King Louie continued to release music which included the 60 track project Featuring Tony. Louie aka The God of Chicago,  is back today with a video for his new single You Love The Bitch.

Nipsey Hussle feat. Young Thug – ‘Thug Life’

Last year Nipsey and Thug collaborated on the banger Choke’  along side Rich Homie Quan which made its way around car stereos all over the country and this year their back for more with ‘Thug Life’.

Even with Nipsey’s signature delivery and Thug’s out of the box style they once again found a way to complement each other and give us a cool track we can vibe to.

To date, there is still no mention as to when Nipsey will release his highly anticipated album Victory Lap but we can only wait and hope that this track is sign of more to come. Take a listen below.

Mozzy feat. Young Mezzy – So 4Real

Mozzy is an artist I need to seriously research and begin to support because he damn well deserves it. Earlier this year his name began to really pop up and receive some serious praise for his vivid street tales. His ability to rap is at a very high level and the fact that he exudes honesty that you can feel through his music is a rare trait to come by these days.

Along with his other hits this year, So 4Real featuring California crooner Young Mezzy is an example of graphic real life events you can picture as he spits. I am excited to see where he goes from here and I am eager to step back in time to see how his name began to hold so much weight.

Enjoy his new single below and go cop his latest project Beautiful Struggle.

Joey Bada$$ Spits Bars On Power 1o6

Joey stopped by The Cruz Show at Power 106 L.A to talk about what he has coming next, meeting the late and still great Phife Dawg and much more.

As a true MC he hopped on 3 classic West Coast beats and made them his own, showing his versatility and setting a the bar for what he has in store for his fans this year.

Wiz Khalifa x Curren$y – Change (Prod. Ricky P)

Last year this duo released two great songs’Weed Nap’ and ‘Uber Driver’ off their highly anticipated collaboration #2009.

A little after midnight, but will can still call it 4/20, Wiz and Curren$y release ‘Change’ the next song off the up-coming project. Over Ricky P’s smooth production the two rap about sticking to their guns, grinding, being themselves and living life. Experience it for yourself below.

Mac Miller – Headaches & Migraines feat. Dave East (Prod. Cardo)

This is the kind of collaboration that gets me excited.

These two MC’s treat us to a 4/20 treat with a dope track where they both shine with well delivered verses. While still sticking to the theme of today’s festivities they also used their personal lives as context to paint a picture around their smoking and drug use.

Roll a facial, think of times I hoped for cable, we was broke
If I ain’t have nothing I had hella smoke
Leather coat the fragrance kush
Passed out faded before they played the hook

– Dave East

Throwing up a whole bunch of blood on an empty stomach
Got headaches and migraines, headaches and migraines
Every single morning like my brain flipping sideways
Try to move my body but my skeleton vibrates
Who’s car is that and how’d it get in my driveway

– Mac Miller

Ty Dolla $ign Present The ‘Free TC’ Documentary

In this passionate documentary BIG TC’s family reflects on their past, the way Ty and his younger siblings grew up and how music has always been the center of their lives.

Most importantly the family maps out the events that lead to TC serving 67 years in a California penitentiary for a crime he did not commit. The injustices described throughout this documentary show the reality of how this government treats the citizen it is supposed to protect and assure freedom.

Ty has devoted his career to righting this wrong and having his younger brother next to him doing what they both love.

Lucki Is Back With His New Songs ‘Medicine’ & ‘2012 Shit’

Lucki has vowed to ‘step on niggas necks this year’ with what he has planned.

Less than a month after dropping his Son of Sam project he has released two new tracks this week with one of them accompanied by a visual.

To me at least he’s going back to his FREEWAVE EP flow with these two solid bangers. Stay tuned to see what else has in store for us and if you’ve been paying attention you know some different shit is coming.
